Klaxons have topped the list of nominees for mtvU’s ‘Left Field Woodie’ award.
The band have been nominated alongside CSS, Madvillain, Rodrigo y Gabriela and The Knife for the award – which celebrates bands that people love but “have no idea what section of the record store to look for them in.”
The award is the second nomination the Mercury Music Prize winner’s have picked up this week following their nomination for Best Newcomer at the MTV Latin American Video Music Awards.
The mtvU awards will be handed out at a ceremony at New York's Roseland Ballroom on November 8th.
Meanwhile, this year’s main ‘Woodie’ award will see Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen go head-to-head for the prize – which is voted for by American college students.
