George Michael has asked the BBC to cut an interview in which he candidly spoke about Aids from a forthcoming documentary.
Michael’s former lover Anselmo Feleppa died on an Aids related illness some twelve years ago – a subject the pop star touched upon in the interview for the programme ‘Steven Fry: HIV And Me.’
The Beeb has accepted his request and have cut the material from the documentary.
A spokesperson for the 44-year-old said: "On reflection, he felt it was too close and too personal a journey. It was too personal for Anselmo's family to revisit."
In the interview, Michael admitted that he was scared of taking out tests for Aids in case the result was positive.
