Franz Ferdinand have recruited Girls Aloud to do the backing vocals on their cover of a David Bowie song.
The Scottish band have covered Bowie’s, ‘Sound And Vision,’ for a Radio 1 compilation – which is being released to celebrate the stations 40th anniversary.
Speaking about the collaboration, Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos told the Sun: “I asked Girls Aloud to do the famous ‘doo doo doo doo doo doo’ backing vocals. They were in the studio working on their own record.
“They’re pretty laid back so it was a music marriage made in heaven. We’re all independently minded people who want to do things their way. Franz Ferdinand have much more in common with Girls Aloud than certain other bands.”
‘Radio 1: Established 1967,’ will also feature The View’s cover of, ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun,’ by the Libertines, which was given its world premiere on the radio station last night.
