The jury in the trial of Phil Spector have failed to reach a verdict on the charges against the music producer.
Judge Larry Fidler has said that he may now ask the jury to attempt to reach a verdict on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
The jury has spent the last seven days considering a verdict - following a complicated five month trial at Los Angeles Superior Court in America.
Spector is accused of murdering B movie actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion in February 2003.
The music producer’s defence team has always denied the allegations, however, claiming that Clarkson took her own life following a bout of depression.
