Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has expressed his feelings towards accusations that a song from his bands new album is directed at Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
The song ‘Let It Die’ includes the lyrics ‘a simple man and his blushing bride/intravenous, intertwined’, and rumours that the songs inspiration is about the much publicised and dangerous relationship of the couple have been rye.
Grohl told The Guardian that the track was “written about feeling helpless to someone elses demise.”
The former Nirvana drummer explained his heartache over losing friends through intoxications and misery. He explained: “I've seen people lose it all to drugs and heartbreak and death. It's happened more than once in my life, but the one that's most noted is Kurt."
He also addressed his continued dislike for Cobains other half. “There are a lot of people that I've been angry with in my life, but the one that's most noted is Courtney. So it's pretty obvious to me that those correlations are gonna pop up every now and again.”
Meanwhile Foo Fighters release new album ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace’ on September 25 before embarking on a UK arena tour in November.

- Yes, she’s a money grabbing twat. Grohl is usually quite diplomatic about here though.
- Grohl can afford to be less diplomatic now that Foo’s are established, because he won’t need to live off Nirvana royalty money.
- He’s not really talking about her though is he. He’s saying that there’s lots of friends who he’s lost due to drugs and alcohol, but the only person who anyone knows about is Mr Cobain, so that’s why everyone draws that conclusion it’s about him (and her with anything about anger).
- I dont like Courtney Love, never have and never will. Im not suprised he doesnt like her, she was only with Kurt for money and fame
