Former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has spoken out about the possibility of a full Blur re-union – admitting that he is “raring to record” again.
Speaking after months of speculation about the possibility that he would re-join his former bandmates for the first since 2002 later this year, Coxon seemed to hint that the re-union was now reliant on frontman Damon Albarn.
"Dave (Rowntree), Alex (James) and I are all talking. I talk to Alex the most. But there's four individuals in the band," Coxon told NME. "We're all really busy, but there's definitely a week [when we're going to record].”
He continued: "I'm just raring to record, but anything could happen. An alligator could come out of the Thames and eat the Tate Modern while I'm in it, or a mosquito could come and kill us all."
Joking about what a new Blur record might sound like after so long apart from each other, Coxon explained: "There would be ten tracks, recorded on a 16-track, and all the songs will have loads of guitar on them."
