Pete Doherty Pens Song For Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty wrote Amy Winehouse a song and presented it to her as a present for her 24th Birthday last Friday (September 14th), according to reports.

The song, understood to be called, ‘Amy On The Mend,’ was sent to Winehouse in a frame along with the message, “Love, Pete.”

Doherty - who is currently coming to the end of another course of rehab at a clinic in Wiltshire, in a bid to beat his addiction to drugs - has often voiced his support for Winehouse.

According to the Star, who claim to have the lyrics to the song, the chorus is as follows:

“Amy on the mend, all that passion to spend...Like a paper Boadicea in a battle to the end, end, end.”

Doherty also references his own heroin implant in the song, saying:

“She won’t have the artifice that’s shoved inside my gut. From the bowels of her soul she’ll fight with her words. ’Til her world is free from the yellow glut.”

Meanwhile, Babyshambles release their first single, 'Delivery,' today (September 17th). The song is the first to be taken from their new album, 'Shotter's Nation,' which is released on October 1st.
