Fran Healy has hit out at bands who are overlooking their music by striving to become celebrities.
The Travis frontman told the Mirror: “Music shouldn't be about the band or the personalities. It's about the songs. As long as the songs are out there making people happy that's what it's all about.”
Healy revealed he has never been troubled by his star status and admits he enjoys the friendly nature of most fans.
"It just feels like everyone is your neighbour - calling you by your first name. It's really flattering and bizarre, but I've never had hassle from fans or any nutters. It's been really good," he explained.
