Shane McGowan has refuted Gigwise’s much talked about poll listing the 20 ugliest rock stars of all time.
Following a vote amongst Gigwise staff, The Pogues frontman was deemed the ugliest rock star on planet earth, ahead of such niceties as Michael Jackson, Shaun Ryder and Marilyn Manson.
The top 20 poll has become a huge hit with various news agencies around the globe, including McGowan’s homeland of Ireland.
In a feature in The Irish Sun, McGowan light-heartedly rubbished our story saying he is “more attractive than Buddy Holly’s rotting corpse.”
Shane, you may be ugly, but you’re a legend of the highest order.

every day, Gigwise carries at least one article about the latest desperate attempt for media attention by some music personality. with it’s Ugly Poll, Gigwise itself is making a desperate attempt for attention. i’m tired of it already.
