On the same day The White Stripes axed all of their US dates, Kaiser Chiefs have now cancelled a string of shows Stateside.
The Leeds band say that they want to focus on recording material for their third album rather than honour seven tour dates beginning in Dallas next Tuesday (September 18).
In a statement, drummer Nick Hodgson said: "We'd like to apologize to fans in America and Canada, especially those who have already bought tickets, but something had to give. We've been extremely busy all year and had no time to focus on the future, we plan to have new material out as soon as possible and we've wanted to record all summer."
Kaiser Chiefs have sold a mere 82,000 copies of ‘Your Truly, Angry Mob’ in America since its release in February. It seems that the vast majority of them are to warm to the “Na, na, na, na na’s” quite yet.
The Kaisers’ European and UK tour will still definitely go ahead later this year.
