Kid Rock has been cited by police for misdemeanor battery following his brawl with Tommy Lee at last nights MTV Video Music Awards.
Police handed Rock – who allegedly threw the only punch - the citation after they spoke to witnesses including MTV VJ Sway and rap producer Rich Nice at the Palms Hotel and Casino.
The Las Vegas Police Department issued the following statement to TMZ:
"A little after 8:00 PM last night we received a call that a disturbance had occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards. We had a lot of officers working in and around the awards so they got her fairly quickly.
“We determined that the altercation was between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. After our investigation, Kid Rock did receive a citation for misdemeanor battery. misdemeanor battery. Everyone involved was interviewed."
The maximum sentence for misdemeanor battery is six months in jail.
Rock must appear in a Vegas court in the next three to five weeks
