Kid Rock Punches Tommy Lee At MTV Awards

Kid Rock could face a term in jail after punching Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards in America last night (September 9th).

Officers were called Palms Hotel and Casino shortly after 10 p.m over the altercation - which happened during the post-show when Rock confronted Lee who was sitting on another table.

According to MTV VJ Sway, Rock “decked” the former Motley Crew man – who was sitting alongside the rapper P Diddy.

Both Rock and Lee are former husbands of the actress Pamela Anderson, who was presenting an award at the ceremony.

Rap producer Rich Nice, said that it was Lee who intimidated Rock initially. 

He told AP: "It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him and Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like 'Yo, what?'"

"When Tommy stands up is when Kid hit him the first time with a backhand and then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again — bong. And then security grabs Tommy Lee in a headlock and pulls him off."

An local police officer, Bill Cassell, said it was unlikely Rock would face the maximum jail term of 6 months over the incident.
