The Spitz To End With Star-Studded Show

    After eleven years...

September 06, 2007 by Jason Gregory

London clubnight The Spitz is to mark the end of an era with a special event on September 27th.

‘A Great Night In The Spitz’ will bring together a number of jazz and blues performers who have played at the infamous clubnight over the last eleven years.

The event will be the last time that the Spitz is held at its residence on Commercial Street in East London. Seb Rochford, Bukky Leo and Terry Edwards are all scheduled to perform at the event.

The Spitz's final night name is influenced by Art Kane's 1958 photograph of New York jazz greats ‘A Great Day In Harlem.’ Like Kane’s picture, performers at the last night of The Spitz will be immortalised in a photograph of the final event.

The evening will be co-ordinated and hosted by The Spitz Jazz Collective featuring Miles Danso and Alan Weekes and gets underway at 7pm.

Tickets for ‘A Great Night In The Spitz’ are on sale now priced at £15.
