Kano has heaped praise on Damon Albarn, saying the Blur and Gorillaz frontman has “inspired him.”
Speaking to Gigwise, the rapper says that working with Albarn on the ‘London Town’ track ‘Feel Free’ was an enlightening experience.
He said: “He inspired me a lot man. I was into the Gorillaz and it made me really wanna work with him and when we were in the studio its was just… cool you know – he’s a really creative guy and I think it’s unique – it’s one of my favourite tracks I’ve done.”
Referring to his collaboration with Kate Nash on the record ‘Me and My Microphone’, he explained how he met the number one singer: “It was before she kind of blew up, I wrote these lyrics and just needed a vocalist - and I really needed this style - and I just found her on Myspace.”
‘London Town’ is released through 679 Recordings on September 10.
