Pete Doherty Escapes Drugs Sentencing

Singer has gone to rehab

Pete Doherty has avoided sentencing for drugs possession today (September 4th) by voluntarily going into rehab.

The Babyshambles frontman had been summoned to appear at West London Magistrates Court at 10am this morning to face charges relating to a drugs arrest in May.

However, his sentencing has now been postponed until October 2nd so that the singer can undertake a fresh course of rehab.

His lawyer, Sean Curran, told the Mirror: "I think he's quite serious. He's asked to go in and he's still there so he's trying."

At Doherty's last hearing, the district judge told him he would face jail or at least a community order when sentenced.

Well he either is serious or he isnt, mind you rehab or Pentonville Prison... Its not a difficult choice and he hasnt got any room left inside of him for another implant!

Stacey, give him a break. The guy needs help, not putting in a prison where he’ll be able to get his drugs as easily as on the outside!! Drug addiction can happen to anyone, I’m sure if it were you you’d rather be helped than thrown in prison, wouldn’t you?

I hope his second album surprises everyone, including me! Can be great but can be terrible. More of the former please!
