Phil Spector’s lead lawyer resigned yesterday (August 27th) - just as the music producer’s murder trial is expected to draw to a close.
Lead attorney Bruce Cutler told the Judge at Spector’s trial that he could no longer effectively represent Spector as there had been "a difference of opinion between Mr. Spector and me on strategy."
Cutler has often been absent from the Los Angeles courthouse because he is currently filming a television show.
He told Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler: "There's nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him."
Spector is accused of murdering B movie actress Lana Clarkson at his LA mansion in February 2003. Spector denies the charges.
Final arguments for the case will begin on September 5th.
