Preceding the launch of their debut album, Austin based quintet, Voxtrot release ‘Firecracker’; a vigorous, exhilarating and emphatic romp through classic American indie-pop. Bursting with jangling guitars, stomping drum-beats and full blooded bass-lines, ‘Firecracker’ is by no means anything to shout about and certainly won’t knock you off your feet, but it does manage to establish a unique and burning identity separating itself from the standardised run of the mill drudgery. And true to its title, the closer you get, the louder it explodes with brazen effervescence and a self-assured and ceaseless confidence.
