Delilah’s often been the source of heartbreak – she betrayed Samson and let the Philistines know his strength was in his hair. The Grateful Dead sang of it and Tom Jones wailed “Why? Why? Why?” over the minx.
Let’s hope for the Plain White T’s sake that this Delilah is a kinder sort because 'Hey There Delilah' is a gentle love song that tugs at the heart strings. With a stripped back acoustic guitar and string accompaniment it’s sweet without being sentimental. Tom Higgenson’s sincere vocals radiate a tender hope for the future.
It’s everything young love should be.
