Simon Cowell To Quit American Idol

Simon Cowell has announced that he is to quit American Idol after three more series of the programme.

The music mogul has already found a number of successful acts via the reality TV programme – which is currently in its seventh series.

Cowell announced yesterday, however, that despite his success with the programme, that he can’t imagine being part of the show after the tenth series, reports yahoo music.

"There has to come a point when I will step down from being on camera and remain behind the scenes because you can't keep doing this for ever,” explained Cowell.”I have three more seasons under contract with American Idol and that will be it. And it will probably come at the same time (for talent show The X Factor) in the U.K.

"I am contracted for another two or three seasons in Britain and I think by that point the public will be sick to death of me anyway and it will be time to go."
