Van Halen Confirm Roth Reunion And Tour

    Band announce new era...

August 14, 2007 by Jason Gregory

Van Halen officially reunited at a press conference in America yesterday (August 13th).

After twenty years of rivalry, frontman David Lee Roth publicly joined his band mates once again and announced a twenty five date American tour, with International dates and a new album in the pipeline.

The only original member of Van Halen not present was the band’s former bassist Michael Anthony – who will be replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s sixteen year old son Wolfgang. Alex Van Halen completes the line-up.

Roth proclaimed at the press conference that this Van Halen line-up was a “new band” not a reunited one.

He added: "Usually, when a band comes back like us, it's rockers with walkers. You don't want to see the same old band, like U2 with the mullets. You want to see something exciting."

The band’s reunion tour will get underway in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 27th and will conclude in Calgary, Alberta on December 11th.

    • Fantastic. It’s my life ambition to see Eddie playing Eruption live. Before all the whingers start, I know there’s no Michael Anthony, but I don;t care. All we need is some European dates - they’re the closest to Van Halen I’m likely to see in my lifetime. Us European’s also need some 2008 dates from Kiss and Queen while I think of it.
