The organiser’s of Ceamfield’s have announced that there are to resurrect one of the stages from the recently cancelled Mathews Street festival at their own event.
They will rescue the Streetwaves stage which was set to feature 10 new bands who had won a competition to perform at the annual Liverpool extravaganza.
The ten winning bands will now appear at Creamfields alongside the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Kelis, Mark Ronson, LCD Soundsystem and Groove Armada on August 25.
Speaking about the decision Cream CEO James Barton said: “This was the most important stage at the Matthew Street Festival, offering young musicians a chance to perform in front of a live audience.
“This is something that Cream is very passionate about and I’m pleased that we are in a position to be able to offer this support, we hope it will be a day that all the performers and their families will remember for a long time to come and I’m sure we’ll see some rising stars in the making.”
