Cat Power is to release a new album of cover versions set for release in 2008.
Her follow up to 2006’s much hailed ‘The Greatest’ will see reworkings of tracks by the likes of The Velvet Underground and bob Dylan.
Posting on her Myspace blog she wrote: "(My) next record comes out in January... 24 covers to choose from...(I'm) mixing (the) record next week in Dallas with Stuart Sikes.
"It's gonna be called, duh, 'Covers Record 2'... With so many covers (I'm) trying to decide if I should release 'Covers Record 2 Vol.2???'."
"I'll be playing with the new band around towns before January."
