Seel Street in Liverpool is hosting an alternate to the recently cancelled Mathew Street Festival.
While it’s not on the same scale as Europe’s largest free festival, The Barfly and Zanzibar will be hosting free events on the August Bank Holiday under the moniker ‘The Seel Street Festival.’
Organisers are hoping to tempt the same bands who were playing Mathew Street to their very own event on August 25-26.
A statement released reads: “With the sad demise of this year’s Mathew Street Festival, local venues The Barfly and The Zanzibar have decided to team up and bring the alternative festival, aptly named Seel Street Festival.”
Artists are advised to get in touch with the venues on: The Barfly 0151 707 6171, The Zanzibar 0151 707 0633.
