Razorlight and Beck are among seven artists and bands who have designed special front covers for their favourite novels.
Ryan Adams and Goldspot have also participated in the Penguin Books scheme which hopes to encourage other book readers to do the same.
Talking about his participation scheme, Beck said that the idea provided greater “interactivity” by the reader.
He added: "Cover art and all the paraphernalia that comes with albums have always been really important to me. I'm one of the people who need a visual crutch for music."
Beck’s 2006 album, ‘The Information,’ had artwork that allowed music fans to decorate it themselves.
Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell has customised a betting slip for his cover of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book, ‘The Great Gatsby.’
Talking about his idea he said: "I was running a book on the Grand National in Tokyo and I was writing out a betting slip for everyone, and decided that my bookie's name was going to be Gatsby. So the cover of this book is a betting slip."
The Editorial director of Penguin Press, Helen Conford, said that she was "delighted" with everyone’s contribution, adding: “that is the central idea behind the My Penguin project - getting stuck in and leaving your mark.”
