RnB singer R. Kelly will go on trial next month– facing fourteen counts of child pornography.
According to the Cook County’s attorney office the trail date is set for September 17 – more than five years after he was first charged with possession of child pornography in 2002.
Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all fourteen counts of child pornography - which include allegations that the singer engaged in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.
In 2005, Kelly told the Associated Press: "I'm going through my own struggle ... and you're either gonna fold or you're going to stand and I believe in standing."
Since Kelly's arrest in 2002 - the case has been hit rigorous delays. This includes the hospitalisation of R-Kelly for a burst appendix – as well as scheduling conflicts with the singers sought after attorney Ed Genson.
