Kasabian have revealed that they’re well on the way to completing their third album and some strange influences behind.
The Leicester quartet recently released a new track ‘Fast Fuse’ via their website as they progress with the writing of the new record.
Revealing the reasoning behind the release Tom Meighan told XFM: "I think we're just putting out a thousand. The whole idea was to throw it out there and just see what happens and everyone's gone mad.
"'Fast Fuse' was really for the fans - it’s a vital track and a vital time for music, and i think we've done a great job of it."
He added: "And it’s great, you know we ain't been sitting about getting fat and watching the garden grow. We've been in the studio, we've been writing music and we've been touring everywhere, we've haven't stopped really.”
Taking about the as yet untitled follow up to 2006’s ‘Empire’ Meighan went on: “It's gonna be progressive and I’m looking forward to it.
“As to how it's shaping up? It's shaping up like a bowl of jelly. And it sounds like an owl at night time.
"Organically we just sound better than we ever have done. We've got a new guy in the band now called Jay Mailer who's brought another dimension to our live sound and how we are.
"Just everything about us sounds better than we ever were; I just think we're getting a little bit too clever for our own dicks."
