DMX has lost a court case in New York relating to charges that he failed to honour a contract to promote a dog clothing line.
The rapper, who has had numerous run ins with the law in recent years, had signed up to promote the Boomer 129 brand of caps, scarves and raincoats.
However, according to the Associated Press DMX, real name Earl Simmons, failed to mention the merchandise on TV and at concerts as the contract stipulated.
In fact he promoted a rival brand even though the Boomer line was named after his own pit bull terrier.
He must now pay $242,000 (£119,176) to Amusing Diversions Inc in compensation after the Manhattan Supreme Court ruling.
