Spice Girl Mel B (Melanie Brown) is launching legal proceedings to confirm that Eddie Murphy is the father of her child.
The singer filed papers in America, to get legal recognition that Angel Iris Murphy Brown – born this April – is the daughter of the comedy legend.
Murphy has denied on several occasions that he is the child’s father, despite Ms Scary Spice carrying out a DNA test that “established paternity” – this result has yet to be recognised by law, however.
As the Beeb reports, Ms B said: "I want her (Angel) to know that she has two parents who desire to be responsible for her during her life and who love her so much that they want to be a part of it."
The Spice Girl is also looking for a settlement on child support payments. Murphy’s representatives have refused to comment.
