Prince kick-started his 21 night London residency last night with a three hour set at the o2 Arena.
Typically the pocket sized pop megastar ensured he made the headlines by taking a deft swipe at Madonna.
As he was leaving the stage momentarily before launching into ‘Black Sweat’, Prince beamed to the mock-jeering crowd: “You don’t think that’s it do you? I’ve got more hits than Madonna has kids.”
The sprawling set kick started with the classic ‘Purple Rain’, with the purple one telling the crowd “Welcome to the party! I was so excited I couldn’t sleep last night.”
Amongst the show highlights were ‘U Got The Look’, ‘Cream’, ‘Kiss’ and ‘Nothing Compares To You.’ As usual, he worked a few covers into the set – Gnarls’ Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ and The Beatles’ ‘Come Together.’
Prince continues his residency with another sold-out show tonight.

- We don’t deserve Prince here 2 be frank, I’m glad he is as can’t wait 2 c him. Britain has a problem with how U Look & the most incredible talent in the music industry is over-looked here for our embarrassing music look nice pap like Gareth Gates, Shane wotsiname et al, all who will disappear - Prince produces, arranges, composes & performs. Journey South & Andy X-Factor go in charts above Prince. Makes me embarrassed to be English 2 be Frank.

- Last Night i was there and Prince was fantastic, but your security people in england where rubbish, I paid £285 for my ticket, i was right next to the stage and the security did’t want me to dance or to be happy, they ask me to show my tickets all night ruining my evening, Fucking england.
About madonna she is good and prince should shut up becouse she is big in a different way and they also had play togheter so...What’s the point of this argument.

- Prince is just weird, I have a few of his albums but no one can honestly say he has more talent than Madonna,not only does she have far more hits than Prince her tours are far more exciting on every level. He will never command the level of attention Madonna still commands to this very day. I don’t understand his comment on her guess he is just like everyone else these days trying to get some headlines by using Madonna’s name, now how lame is that?
