Three-and-a-half minutes of pure easy listening is guaranteed prior to a listen of the very first Craig Johnston & the Revolvers’ single. Swerved sounds of piano drift in an out, behind a mist of atmosphere intended to enhance the effect of the song. But, while you might be licking your lips at the prospect of such a song, it does have fundamental flaws. The weakness of ‘Wherever I Fall’ is that it’s ultimately dull and dreary in the vocals of Johnston, and his songwriting talent could go ignored due to the predictable lyrics. It’s all very lovely to sit back to and admire but for all intent music lovers that want to know what they’re listening to, while keeping away from the typical pop songs with no edge; avoid this.
