R&B star Rhianna’s ten week stronghold on the top of the UK singles chart ended yesterday (July 29th) as her single ‘Umbrella’ fell to number three.
The female singer had become the first artist this decade to spend ten weeks at number one and was the longest running chart topper since Wet Wet Wet's, 'Love Is All Around,' in 1994.
Rhianna was finally replaced by Timbaland’s latest single, ‘The Way I Are,’ which managed to hold off competition from Kate Nash - who hung on to the number two spot with her single, 'Foundations.'
Meanwhile, in the album charts, reality TV star Paul Potts stayed at number one with ‘One Chance,’ while Kings Of Leon continued their climb back up the charts with, ‘Because Of The Times’ - which charted at number four.
