Legendary American singer Etta James has been hospitalised in Los Angeles due to complications following recent surgery.
The 69-year-old was readmitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday after suffering stomach pain following abdominal surgery last month.
James has been replaced by Chaka Khan on her current tour with fellow legend Al Green.
Her manager Lupe De Leon says, "If it had been left solely up to her, she would have checked herself out of the hospital and started the tour regardless of her delicate health.
"However, her doctor advised that were she to do so, it would put her at very great risk."
