Prosecutors have dropped charges relating to the shooting of The Kink’s frontman Ray Davies.
Davies was shot in January 2004 when he tried to chase down robbers who had stole a friends wallet in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Yesterday (July 26th) prosecutors dropped the armed robbery and aggravated battery charges against Jerome Barra, however, when Davies failed to appear in court for a second time.
The Kinks man has said that he was only notified by the prosecution team a few days before the trial was due to begin and that that left him with no time to get to New Orleans, according to PA.
Davies said: “I am very disappointed with the way this case has been handled,” adding, “I intend to pursue it further."
Davies also missed a scheduled court appearance for the same trail in 2005.
