The Von Bondies are to return after nearly four years away with a new album in the first half of 2008.
The Detroit garage rockers will follow up 2004’s ‘Pawn Shoppe Heart’ with ‘Love, Hate And Then There’s You’ after several years of upheaval for the band.
The line up now features only two original members in Jason Stollsteimer and drummer Don Blum following the departures of Marcie Bolen, Carrie Smith and Yasmine Smith.
They’re now joined by Detroit based musicians Alicia Gbur, Leann Banks and Matt Lannoo.
Speaking to Billboard Stollsteimer said: "When we got off of touring 'Pawn Shoppe Heart,' we were so exhausted.
“In my own head, I was like, 'I don't want to ever do it again.' But these three years have revived my energy to do it again.”
He added: "I wanted to get out and keep the momentum going, of course, but the truth is the momentum wasn't, like, millions of records, although it was really good.
“Most people knew us as the band who sang this one song ('C'mon C'mon') and not really who the band was or anything like that.
“So in that regard it didn't make sense to put out records two years ago. It wouldn't have been as good as it is today."
For the new record The Von Bondies worked with several producers including Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) and Peter Katis (Interpol).
