The Slides - 'Not Coming Home'

As their label choose The Slides to be the first band to have something released through them, realistically the members of the London band are probably feeling a bit of pressure on their innocent shoulders. Unfortunately, ‘Not Coming Home’ is nothing more than three and a half minutes of uninspiring music. Ideal for a relaxing drive back home, but not much more. Lyrics;’ You’re like a broken jigsaw with one piece misssing’ put the song into the bleaker side of the bunch of new releases, despite the somewhat pleasant vocals and rhythm. Still, they’re a band with a possibly bright future, and if every other song on their future debut album has such a memorable chorus as this track, just with a bit more passion, the bright future will be guaranteed.
