New Order members Stephen Morris and Bernard Sumner have said in a statement that the band “have not split up.”
The pair’s comments are in response to a radio announcement in May by Peter Hook– the band’s bass player – that he had left the band and that all the groups members had disbanded, reports the BBC.
The full statement is as follows: “We would have hoped he could have approached us personally first, New Order have not split up."
It continues: “Whatever happens musically or otherwise, New Order have not split up, they continue to exist.”
The band’s last release was ‘Waiting For The Sirens’ Call,’ in 2005.
