Beth Ditto will not be designing clothes for the High Street retailer New Look, it’s been revealed.
The Gossip singer linked herself with New Look earlier this month saying in an interview that she was in “talks to do something with them.”
It’s emerged today, however, that New Look have had no contact with Ditto. A spokesperson for the chain said: “It's definitely not happening. It's a misunderstanding. We did send Beth some clothes samples as gifts, as we do many celebs, but we have had no contact with her at all. I think she may have received the clothes and misunderstood."
Ditto had apparently already asked the designer Giles Deacon to help her with the project. He told The London Paper yesterday: “She asked me for help on her designs for New Look, as I have worked with them (before)."
The singer would have joined the likes of Kate Moss, who recently launched a clothing range with Topshop and Lily Allen, who designed her own summer collection for New Look.
New Look added, however, that they wouldn't rule out working with Ditto in the future, reports NME.
