Fender have unveiled a new guitar which is modelled on the 66 Telecaster that Joe Strummer played throughout his career.
In honour of The Clash man’s original – which he brought for £120 in 1979 – the guitar comes complete with a “worn-to-the-wood gray primer and black spray paint DIY ‘finish.’”
The guitar will also include a customization kit designed by the artist Shephard Fairy, which will allow people to add stickers and stencils to the replica – like Strummer did to his own guitar.
The Joe Strummer Telecaster has been given the full support of the Strummer estate and is available via Fender now.
