Lightspeed Champion aka former Test Icicle Dev Hynes was joined on stage by the like of Jack Penate and Faris Rotter in London last night.
Gigwise was in attendance of Champion’s first headline gig as a full band at the 229 club on Great Portland Street which saw support act Emmy The Great perform as a backing singer.
The first surprise guest of the night was fellow Domino artist Eugene McGuinness who played guitar on ‘Devil Tricks For A Bitch’.
He was joined on stage by Penate for a cover of John Martyn’s ‘Over The Hill’ before Faris Rotter took over vocal duties on a disturbing rendition of ‘I Could Have Done This Myself’.
The set was finished with a rousing cover of The Strokes’ ‘New York City Cops’ before Hynes appeared for an impromptu encore to perform a solo version of ‘Midnight Surprise’.
