Tulsa: The hub of Oklahoma, birthplace of Route 66, old skool oil capital of the world, and now, home to Annie Clark – the multi versatile force behind St. Vincent. In ‘Now, Now’ she has drawn together a finite knowledge of the classic and contemporary to complete debut. Underneath the dreamy riffs and delicate piano plinking this love song of sorts gloriously breaks into epic territories as harmonied backing brings forth the innocently repeated, “You don’t need to say you’re sorry” right up until Clark’s too-beautiful-to-be-menacing “I’ll make you sorry” ends this languid pop experience.
Released 16/07/07 on Beggars Banquet
