VWF, or as we used to know them - Vibration White Finger. Why the abbreviation? Maybe they’re trying to appeal to the kids… That’s odd because in reality, VWF don’t need to sound much cooler. Their sound does the hard work for them. The potential to sound old and out-of-touch with a brass section, goes without saying, but the bunch of underground rockers have managed to do something rather charming, something that only the Rumble Stripes do so well. ‘I Won’t Do You Any Harm’ sounds like The Zutons with a hell-of-a-lot more edge, and somewhere between the 21st and 22nd century. The song however could be mistaken for a dire, camp 80’s anthem without the brass section, so it’s not actually the cherry on top, it’s the indispensable part of the band. This is nowhere near the perfect pop-rock anthem, but you can’t yet cross off VWF in the list of bands that could do something rather extraordinary.

Released 23/07/07 on Sidewalk 7 Records
