George Michael has been hit with a whopping £130,000 fine for overrunning the curfew at the first ever live gig at the new Wembley Stadium.
The former Wham! star overran by 13 minutes performing two extra songs, and immediately incurred the huge fine. Newspapers quote sources claiming that the going rate for overrunning is a massive £10,000 per minute.
However, Wembley Stadium officials haven’t confirmed the newspaper claims. A spokesperson said: “Wembley can issue fines for concerts that overrun, but that’s between Wembley and the concert promoters.”
George Michael played two nights at the revamped stadium, beating Muse to the prestigious honour of being the first act to play the stadium.
