Happy Monday’s Shaun Ryder may face a number of penalty fines after he flaunted England’s new smoking ban at a gig in Manchester.
It’s reported that Ryder smoked continuously throughout a gig at The Ritz in Manchester recently, prompting members of the audience to light up as a result.
England has been governed by the new smoking laws since July 1st - with a £50 fine being imposed for anyone caught breaking the law.
Pat Karney of Manchester City Council told the BBC: “The Ritz will get a visit from environmental health straight away."
He continued: "No matter how big he thinks he is, he is not above the law. There will be no breaches of this law in Manchester."
