Clash Guitarist Mick Jones played an impromptu rendition of the Clash classic ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go,’ in prison on Friday (July 6th).
Appearing before inmates at the Wormwood Scrubs Prison in London as part of the Jail Guitar Doors campaign – which has been orchestrated by Billy Bragg – Jones surprised those in attendance by playing the Clash song.
According to the Guardian, Jones told inmates: “Shall we see if this guitar works,” before launching into the infamous track.
The initiatives founder, Billy Bragg – who was also in attendance – launched the Jail Guitar Doors campaign earlier this year to encourage inmates to take up music in a bid to prevent them re-offending upon release.
Bragg said: "It's not going to work for everybody, but there are people who find redemption through music."
