PJ Harvey made her UK live return on Saturday night (July 7) at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
The 37-year-old played the hallowed venue as part of the two week long Manchester International Festival celebrations.
Wearing a hideous looking white ball gown, the singer opened the rapturously received set with ‘Oh My Lover’, ‘Send His Love To Me’ and ‘Man Size’.
All the classics from her career were performed, including ‘Big Exit’ from her tour-de-force ‘Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.’
However, she used the night to showcase material from her upcoming album ‘White Chalk’, released in September. The album title track, ‘The Devil’, ‘Mountain’ and ‘The Silence’ were all performed.
