Tom Jones will cover the Arctic Monkeys ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ at the Concert For Diana tomorrow.
The Welsh crooner says he’s a “massive fan” of the Sheffield band, and has already been encouraged by the reaction his version received when he previewed it at a party for his pal Sir Elton John, who is also playing the concert at Wembley Stadium.
Jones tells the Daily Mirror, “I'm a massive fan of the band and I felt like doing something different with my set.
"It's a great song and I wanted to do it as a surprise for the Princess Diana concert. I haven't been in touch with the lads about it but I hope that they like it.”
Tom’s version will top a heady week of cover version action for the Monkeys. They covered Tom’s fellow Welsh singing icon Shirley Bassey during their Glastonbury performance last week, whilst the Dame paid tribute to the band when she took to the stage on Sunday afternoon.
