Snow Patrol are set to take over XFM in July as part of the station’s residency series.
The band follow in the footsteps of Damon Albarn, the Manic Street Preachers and the Kaiser Chiefs who have all taken the helm of the Sunday evening show in recent months.
As always, Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody will be delving into his personal record bag, telling anecdotes and revealing who inspired the band musically.
Lightbody said of the five week stint: “This Sunday I begin a weekly residency on Xfm during the month of July. To be honest I feel like the first Russian cosmonaut. Nope, not Yuri Gagarin, I mean the wee dog, Laika. So many controls, buttons, levers and flashing lights and next to no idea what any of them do or indeed why I'm here.
“I'll bring along my favourite records of the last while and some new stuff I've just been given by folk at the bus stop and endeavour to steer this thing safely back to earth. No promises though."
The frontman will take over the show on July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 9pm to 10pm.
