The Hours have told Gigwise that they believe John Peel would have loved their music and their performance at the Glastonbury stage named after him.
The band played the midday slot at the John Peel tent on Saturday and were rapturously received by a huge crowd.
Speaking to us the following day about the set front man Ant Genn said: “I think he would have loved it because we’ve got balls, commitment and energy and we’re honest. Absolutely he would’ve loved it.”
“John Peel was a man who respected anyone who really, truly believed in something. Something above and beyond the business.”
“People that when they open their mouth they meant what they said so I think he would’ve liked us,” he finished.
The former keyboard player with Elastica is a notorious Glastonbury veteran after his on stage streak in 1995.
Gigwise was on site at Glastonbury all weekend, to read more about our experiences check out our blog.
