V2 Records have become the first record label to commit their artists to we7.com – which is the first legal free digital download service in Europe.
Thanks to the deal, music fans will now be able to download tracks by V2 bands, including, Bloc Party, Cold War Kids and Stereophonics.
We7.com is an advert supported website, however, which means that each download will have a short advert attached to the beginning of the song. Users will be able to download replacement advert free version of the song a month later.
As well as submitting its back catalogue, V2 has also licenced its new material to the website, so that songs by Little Man Tate and The Rakes will also be available to users.
