The Smashing Pumpkins played a mammoth three-hour set at their first UK show in seven years last night (June 19).
Billy Corgan and co. played a fervently received show to a packet to the rafters Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Tickets for which went within minutes when they went on sale some weeks back.
The rock giants played a 28 song set which included old classics like ‘Tonight Tonight’, plus newer tracks like lead single ‘Tarantula’ from their eagerly anticipated LP ‘Zeitgeist’ – released on July 7.
Opening with ‘United States’ the band played the sprawling set in from of a giant black American flag adorned with the ‘SP’ logo.
